South Carolina Student Challenge Bowl
BASIC FACTS
Who: One or two 3-member teams from each South Carolina PA program**
- Charleston Southern University
- Medical University of South Carolina
- North Greenville University
- Presbyterian College
- University of South Carolina School of Medicine
**Each school must have 80% SCAPA student membership to participate in this event, and there is a max of two 2nd-year students per team.
What: 3-round challenge bowl competition modeled after the annual AAPA National Challenge Bowl
When: During the Annual CME Conference
Where: 2026 Challenge Bowl will be at Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island.
Why: Winner of SC Student Challenge Bowl will have bragging rights for the year, receive a trophy, and $500 to be used to attend the next AAPA National Challenge Bowl.
What is the Challenge Bowl?
REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN
- Please complete a registration form and return it to info@scapapartners.org.
- All Challenge Bowl participants must register for the SCAPA CME Conference. There are several low-cost options, including Challenge Bowl only, which is free.
- Team check-in on the day of the Challenge Bowl event will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.
- Any decorations for your team’s table can be set up during this time.

- 2018 – USC Team “Circle of Weil-is” of Megan Kirkland, Carlye Evans, and Jake Calella
- 2019 – USC Team “Wielin’ Out” of Joey Driskell, Carlye Evans, and Johnathan McManus
- 2020 – 2024 – No contest held
- 2025 – CSU Team “PA-C Ya Later” of Addison McLelland, Margaret Lloyd, and Robert T. Shrader
