SCAPA is honored to welcome South Carolina Senator Tom Davis as a keynote speaker at the upcoming CME Conference. A dedicated public servant, seasoned attorney, and longtime advocate for healthcare access, Senator Davis will speak on his sponsorship of Senate Bill S.44 and Senate Bill S.45 along with the urgent need to address provider shortages—especially in South Carolina’s rural communities. His address will highlight how legislative efforts, including the expansion of scope of practice and removal of regulatory barriers, are making critical strides in increasing access to care.
Attendees will gain a firsthand look at how advocacy shapes policy and impacts the daily work of physician assistants/associates and nurse practitioners across the state. A Q&A session will follow, providing an opportunity to engage directly with one of the state’s leading voices in healthcare reform.
Senator Davis represents Senate District 46 (Beaufort and Jasper counties) and currently serves as Chair of the Senate Labor, Commerce, and Industry Committee, while also holding key roles on both the Medical Affairs and Finance Committees. With over 15 years in the Senate and a strong legislative record—including Acts that have advanced PA and NP practice, broadband expansion, and healthcare infrastructure—he continues to champion commonsense reforms that serve the health and well-being of all South Carolinians.
A resident of Beaufort County, Senator Davis is a partner at Harvey & Battey and a proud father to three daughters. His leadership has earned recognition from a wide range of organizations, including the South Carolina Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Coalition for Access to Health Care, and the South Carolina Public Health Association.
