Hands-On Learning: Basic Suture Workshop with Robin Mozenter Tippett, PA-C, MPAS, DFAAPA

SCAPA’s CME Conference will once again feature the always-popular Basic Suture Workshop, led by surgical PA Robin Mozenter Tippett. This hands-on session offers participants the opportunity to learn and practice essential suture techniques in a supportive environment. Separate workshops will be held for licensed PAs and PA students, and additional registration is required to participate. Members who have already registered for the SCAPA CME Conference can easily add this workshop to their schedule by logging into the Member Center and selecting the corresponding workshop option.

With more than 48 years of clinical expertise, Robin brings a remarkable depth of surgical experience to her teaching. A graduate of Hahnemann University (now Drexel University) and the Yale University/Norwalk Hospital surgical residency program, Robin has built her career in surgery—serving as a first assistant in neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiac, bariatric, GYN, plastics, general, vascular, and ENT procedures.

She was instrumental in developing the PA concept at three Philadelphia hospitals in the 1980s and later became the first Chief Surgical PA at Medstar Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, where she established and managed a surgical PA department of 27 providers. Beyond her clinical leadership, Robin has lectured internationally, taught suture workshops for more than 30 years, and consulted widely in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.

For the past 20 years, Robin has brought her expertise to SCAPA, guiding PAs and students alike in mastering the fundamentals of suturing. Her workshops are a conference highlight, combining technical instruction with practical tips drawn from decades of surgical practice.
