Welcome to SCAPA
What is SCAPA?
The South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (SCAPA) is your professional organization and functions as a volunteer association consisting of an Executive Director, Board of Directors, and various committees. Together with other members of the health care team, legislators and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), we are working to eliminate barriers to care and enhance existing healthcare delivery systems. SCAPA serves as the voice of the profession for our state.

Welcome from SCAPA’s President
Dear Colleagues,
I am honored to serve as President of the South Carolina Academy of PAs (SCAPA). As a practicing PA for almost 19 years, I am deeply committed to advancing our profession through advocacy, leadership, and service. I believe the strength of our profession lies in you, our membership, and I am passionate about fostering a renewed sense of pride, purpose, and connection among South Carolina PAs and PA students this year.
My goal is to ensure that PAs have a strong voice in shaping healthcare policy, expanding access to high-quality patient care, and protecting the future of our profession.
It is such a privilege to represent South Carolinian PAs, and I am committed to empowering the next generation of PAs through mentorship, collaboration, and unwavering advocacy. I believe that a strong organization begins with showing up for one another and that every PA can make a meaningful difference for both our patients and our profession for the coming year!
With appreciation and vision,
Jennifer Odom Coker, MAPS, PA-C
