The Mission of the South Carolina Academy of PAs is to promote quality, cost effective, and accessible healthcare through the professional and clinical development of physician assistants in the state of South Carolina.
What is SCAPA?
The South Carolina Academy of PAs (SCAPA) is your professional organization and functions as a volunteer association consisting of an Executive Director, Board of Directors, and various committees.
Together with other members of the health care team, legislators and the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), we are working to eliminate barriers to care and enhance existing healthcare delivery systems. SCAPA serves as the voice of the profession for our state.

SCAPA is the only voice PAs have in South Carolina, a state in which the healthcare landscape is changing. I am a part of SCAPA because I want my profession to flourish. I want to leave my profession stronger than it was before I became part of it. That’s why I’ve put in the extra hours volunteering, after putting in extra hours working for busy surgical practices. That is why I’ve been a SCAPA member since 2008 and why I believe every PA in our state should be a member.

SCAPA is the only organization dedicated to representing our profession in the state, and their tireless efforts to optimize PA practice laws directly benefit our ability to provide the best patient care. By advocating for the removal of outdated restrictions & updating practice laws, SCAPA helps ensure that PAs like me can fully utilize our skills in today’s healthcare landscape. Being a part of this organization not only keeps me informed but also empowers me to be part of a community that is committed to advancing our profession and improving healthcare access for all South Carolinians.

Great Conference in a great location. Very helpful staff. Really good product theater speakers. Definitely one of my new favorite conferences. I only attend a conference every other year, and SCAPA is at the top of my list.
